PLDT Ultera Network Service rollout brings LTE to Filipino homes

More and more Filipinos will now be able to get hold of PLDT's fiber-optic connections, as the company recently rolls out its wireless broadband service, which is aimed at delivering peak wireless speeds of up to 3Mbps, available through a ₱999 monthly plan.

The latest offer is called PLDT Home Bro Ultera (pronounced as “ultra”).

PLDT’s Ultera is maintained by the first Time-Division Duplex-Long Term Evolution network in the Philippines.

Currently having 228 sites nationwide, the TD-LTE utilizes a distinct groundwork from landline and mobile services. Seventy-one (71) percent of this total number is situated the Northern and Southern parts Luzon.

PLDT has guaranteed that its newest technology supporting high-speed LTE Internet connections for home is 3 times faster than WiMax and 21 times faster than Canopy. This means that a user can download a standard-definition movie in just a matter of 11 minutes while downloading of 10 songs will be completed in just 35 seconds.

The company has further expounded that its new TD-LTE network service also enables its broadband service to proliferate in remote areas that are previously not accessible to wired networks.

Among the main features of PLDT's new Ultera Home Plan would include access to add-on services such as:

-          MyPinoyTV
-          ClickPlay
-          Spinnr
-          PLDT Home TVolution support

TVolution refers to an Android device that converts ordinary television into an Internet TV.

Key areas where the PLDT Ultera is launched in Luzon are Tarlac, Batangas, Bulacan, Laguna, Cavite and Luzon. The service is also now offered in Leyte in the Visayas and Zamboanga del Sur in Mindanao.
Users may subscribe to any of PLDT's Home Bro Ultera Service Plan available including:

-       Ultera Basic at P999 monthly, with peak speeds of up to 3Mbps;
-          Ultera Max at P1,599 monthly, with speeds of up to 5Mbps; and
-          Ultera Pro at P1,999 monthly, with speeds of up to 10Mbps
