The phrase
"she passed away" emerged
among the trending topics in social media sites Wednesday, particularly on Twitter.
Miss
Pircelyn Pialago, Miss Earth Philippines finalist representing Dalaguete, Cebu, and a close friend of Leslie Ann Pine, a
co-finalist who passed out during their swimsuit show, explicated she had
freaked out when she saw her friend collapsed amidst the show, the reason why
she wasn’t fully aware of what she said during that nippy dialog with the press
on site.
Miss
Pialago, in her quick interview during the event has uttered "she [referring to Miss Pine] passed
away" instead of "passed
out" when asked about Miss Pine's condition.
That video
clip has immediately spread over the web, went viral, and eventually ended up
among the trending topics in social media networks for that day.
In
respond, Miss Pialago recently appealed to all netizens to stop making fun of
what she had said especially she did not say it in purpose.
"Can't imagine that this mistake will make me trending in
social media. Sorry a lot! Please don't be too harsh, people,"
she said.
Prior to
this, Miss Earth Philippines finalist Leslie Ann Pine, a Fil-Am candidate
representing San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija has collapsed in the middle of their
swimsuit competition due to extreme dieting.
This is
the first full comment uttered by Miss Pialago before the press during that
incident:
"She passed away [sic] kasi she's really hungry... I kept on inviting her to eat breakfast but she didn't want to eat kasi we're under weight watch."
