Samsung Galaxy S3 Beginner’s Guide: LED Indicators, Colors and their Meanings

When the device is locked, the LED indicator shows up on the front of it. This will give you a hint of certain status changes and events. To configure how the LED functions on your Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone, you need to use the LED settings. 


Here's how to configure LED functions on the S3 handset:

1.       Press on the Home button.

2.       Tap on Settings to continue.

3.       Tap to select My Device.

4.       Tap on LED Indicator.

5.       Tap the check box next to options. Placing a check mark on the box means the option is enabled; otherwise it is disabled or turned off.

Below are the available LED indicators, colors and their meanings on the Galaxy S3:

·         Charging - If enabled, the LED glows red when charging and green when the battery is fully charged.

·         Low battery - If enabled, the LED blinks red. This is an indication that the phone is in low battery charge.

·         Notifications - If enabled, the LED blinks blue. This indicates that you have some missed calls, new messages or applications events.


·         Voice Recording - If enabled, the LED blinks blue when recording with the screen turned OFF.
