Google Nexus 5 is mainly crafted for "speed and power to spare on a stunning 5-inch display." As the name implies, it is a 5-inch smartphone powered by Android 4.4 KitKat and is packed with so many features.


Introducing the Key Functions

In order to make the most of your Nexus 5 smartphone, you need to know the basics on the device first, from its external physical scheme and key functions, down to the very last attribute incorporated on the device software.

Google Nexus 5 integrates the following key features and functions for you to make use of:

1. Front-Facing Camera Lens. Allows you to take photos and records videos while facing the screen. It also lets you do a video conference.

2. Touchscreen. Displays all the information you need to manipulate your device, including call status as well as date and time. It also offers one-touch access to every feature and application incorporated into the phone.

3. Earpiece. Allows you to hear the caller and automated prompts.

4. Back Key. Allows you to go back to the previous screen, close a dialog box, options menu, onscreen keyboard or the Notifications panel.

5. Home Key. Allows you to get to the Home screen. You can also use it to open recently-used apps. Just press and hold on the Home key to open the active apps window/screen.

6. Recent Apps Key. When tapped, it opens a list of thumbnail images of apps you have recently worked with.

7. Power/Lock Button. Allows you to turn the phone On or Off, turn the screen On or Off, switch the phone to vibration mode, airplane mode or silent mode.

8. Speaker. Allows you to hear different ringtones and sounds, as well as caller's voice in speaker mode.

9. Charger/Accessory Jack. Lets you connect the phone charger to a USB cable.

10. Mic. Transmits or carries your voice for phone calls or records your voice or certain sounds for voice recordings and videos.

11. Volume Button. Lets you set or adjust volume level on the phone, ringtone, media or voice volume during a call.

12. Flash. Illuminates subjects in dim or low-light areas when using the camera for recordings and videos.

13. Back-Facing Camera Lens. Allows you to take photos and videos.

14. 3.5mm Headset Jack.  Lets you plug in either a stereo headset, or an optional headset for a more convenient, hands-free phone conversations.

Do not insert any accessories into the incorrect jack to prevent any damage to occur on the phone.
