A hard reset is often used to aid or fix unresponsive devices including Samsung Galaxy Note.

Elaborated in this content are the steps to perform a hard reset to a Samsung Galaxy Note that is not responding or freezing. You may refer to these steps if you need further assistance in going through the whole process.

Getting started:

1. Press the Power button to turn off the phone. If it won't turn off, just remove the battery. To remove the battery from the phone, lift the top of the battery cover and pull it away from the phone.

2. Wait for about 30 seconds and then re-insert the battery.

3. Be sure to line up the battery cover hinge with the designated holes in the phone and gently push down the cover until you'll hear it clicks to place.

4. After placing the battery back, press and hold the Volume down, Volume up and Power buttons simultaneously until the Samsung logo displays on the screen.

5. Press the Volume down button to scroll to Wipe data/Factory reset.

6. Touch Home.

7. Press the Volume down button to scroll to Yes -- delete all user data.

8. Touch Home to proceed.

The phone should now initiate the reboot process. Just wait until it completely reboots to the initial setup screen and that should do it.

Hope this helps.
