President Aquino declares October 6th a Regular Holiday Nationwide

President Benigno Simeon Aquino III has officially declared October 6, 2014 as Regular Holiday across the country, in observance of Eid'l Adha, otherwise known as the "Feast of Sacrifice.

The official announcement was made by Malacanang on September 12, 2014, Tuesday, after the President has signed Proclamation No.875, according to Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte.



During the announcement, Valte said “The President signed Proclamation 875 on September 12, 2014, declaring Monday, October 6, 2014, as a regular holiday throughout the country in observance of Eid’l Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice,” and added “Yes, it’s along weekend."

Eid'l Adha is deemed one of the two greatest feasts of Islam, based on the declaration made by the highest religious body of Saudi Arabia.

Eid'l Fitr or the Feast of Ramadan, was also declared as a regular holiday on the 29th of July this year, by the Philippine government.

That being said, there'll be NO CLASS on Monday.
