The Place

Siaton is officially deemed among the first class municipalities in the province of Negros Oriental, Philippines. It has a total population of 73,285 people, as indicated in the 2010 census.

Siaton is comprised of 26 political barrios/barangays including Albiga, Apoloy, Bonawon, Bonbonon, Cabangahan, Canaway, Casala-an, Caticugan, Datag, Giliga-on, Inalad, Malabuhan, Maloh, Mantiquil, Mantuyop, Napacao, Poblacion I, Poblacion II, Poblacion III, Poblacion IV, Salag, San Jose, Sandulot, Si-it, Sumaliring, and Tayak.

The present Local Government unit of Siaton is ruled and managed by the Honorable Mayor Alberto G. Ator.

The People

Locals of Siaton are called "Siatanons."

Siatanons by nature are generally conscientious, friendly and hospitable. Despite the seemingly livid accent, the town folks are actually gentle.

The Culture

Siatanons' culture varies from generation to generation. Typically, elder folks are tagged 'conservative' Siatanons while the latest generations as 'contemporary'.

Religion in the place also varies. But the majority of the people are Catholics.

People in Siaton are using Cebuano as primary dialect and medium of communication in the place.
